XINGU

Anos 1940. Três jovens irmãos decidem viver uma grande aventura. Orlando (Felipe Camargo), 27 anos, Cláudio (João Miguel), 25, e Leonardo (Caio Blat), 23, os Irmãos Villas-Bôas, alistam-se na Expedição Roncador-Xingu e partem numa missão desbravadora pelo Brasil Central. A saga começa com a travessia do Rio das Mortes e logo eles se tornam chefes da empreitada, envolvendo-se na defesa dos povos indígenas e de suas diversas culturas, registrando tudo num diário batizado de A Marcha para o Oeste.

Na aventura, os Villas-Bôas conseguem passar pelo território Xavante, de índios corajosos e guerreiros sem nenhuma baixa de ambos os lados. Em seguida, deparam-se com os Kalapalos, os famosos e temidos que teriam matado o explorador inglês Percy Fawcett. Mas, apesar de toda a apreensão e ao contrário do que imaginavam, os irmãos ficam amigos do grande chefe Izarari, e se encantaram com a cultura e os costumes locais. Não previam ainda que ali viveriam a primeira tragédia de suas vidas: um surto de gripe, trazido por eles mesmos, que quase dizima toda a aldeia.

Ao recontar a saga dos irmãos, Xingu apresenta a luta pela criação do parque e pela salvação de tribos inteiras que transformaram os Villas-Bôas em heróis brasileiros, traçando diálogo com problemas crônicos do processo de formação brasileiro.

In 1940 three young brothers decide to live a great adventure. Orlando (Felipe Camargo), 27, Claudius (João Miguel), 25, and Leonardo (Caio Blat), 23, Brothers Villas-Boas, enlist in the Roncador-Xingu expedition and go on a mission by taming Central Brazil. The saga begins with the crossing of the Rio das Mortes and then they become leaders of the enterprise, engaging in the defense of indigenous peoples and their diverse cultures, logging everything in a journal named The March to the West.

In the adventure, the Villas-Boas can pass through the territory Xavante Indians and brave warriors with no low on both sides. Then, faced with Kalapalos, the famous and feared that they would have killed the British explorer Percy Fawcett. But despite all the concern and contrary to what they imagined, the brothers are friends of the great chief Izarari, and marveled at the culture and local customs. Not even predicted that there would live the first tragedy of their lives: an outbreak of influenza, brought on by themselves, that nearly decimates the village.

In recounting the saga of the brothers, presents the struggle for Xingu park's creation and the salvation of entire tribes who turned in the Villas-Boas Brazilian heroes, drawing a dialogue with chronic problems of the training process in Brazil.
